NASCAR is racing at Watkins Glen this weekend in the second to last race of the regular season! Here are a few storylines to watch for 👀

Martin Truex Jr. has yet to win and secure his place in the NASCAR playoffs despite having the 4th most points. This week is the best chance for him to win, as the past 4 races at Watkins Glen he has finished 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, and 1st. Truex is one of the best road course drivers on the NASCAR roster, but he will have his work cut out for him as there will be some unfamiliar faces in the field that are familiar with turning right.

Kimi Räikkönen, AKA “The Iceman,” has spent the last 20 years racing in F1, but on Sunday he takes the wheel of the 91 car for Trackhouse racing. Despite having a successful career in F1, Denny Hamlin doesn’t believe Kimi is a threat. “It’s a great opportunity for him and Trackhouse and whatnot, but as far as being a contender to race for the win, I don’t think that’s a possibility”

Kimi will be joined by drivers from 7 different countries in Sunday’s race. Suarez became the first Mexican driver to win a NASCAR race earlier this year. Will a different driver be able to do the same for their country this weekend?

🇲🇽 Suarez

🇳🇱 Hezemans

🇷🇺 Kvyat

🇫🇮 Raikkonen

🇩🇪 Rockenfeller

🇬🇧 Tilley

Hopefully we will get to see a finish as good as this one from 2012, which is one of my personal favorite finishes in NASCAR history.
