First Up: '70s Music & Culture

The '70s Music & Culture collection features digital archival digital photographs curated from deep within the Getty Images archives. For the first time ever, rare photographs from these storied Getty Images vaults will be available exclusively to individual fans and collectors, giving music fans and photography aficionados the chance to get up close and personal with rare historical content and make them accessible for generations to come.

Why the '70s? Because every decade has its charms, but when it comes to conjuring a shared sense of cultural nostalgia and creative kineticism, the '70s reigns supreme. You need tension in the strings to make music, and in an era defined by women’s liberation, the continuing struggle for civil rights, new technologies and the sexual revolution, the swirling zeitgeist of the '70s was reflected and amplified through an electrifying outpour of musical revolutions that thrill us to this day.

'70s Music & Culture | Volume 1 Drop Details

Countless artists made a name for themselves by contributing to the raucous roar of the ‘70s, and their defining moments live on through intimate shots taken by the legendary photographers who immersed themselves in the scene.
