We have exciting news to share! The DC NFT Marketplace is undergoing a significant evolution. The DC NFT Marketplace is merging with the Candy Digital platform to offer a unified, unparalleled experience in digital collectibles and fan engagement. This blog post will break down everything you need to know about the transition.
Why Merge with Candy Digital?
Both the DC NFT Marketplace and Candy Digital have been at the forefront of offering captivating content and experiences to fans worldwide. This move is an alignment of visions and goals that will usher in a new era of fan experiences. By moving to one holistic platform, we are uniting our strengths to set new benchmarks in digital collectibles and fan engagement.
What Does This Mean For You?
Starting at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET on Friday, Dec 1, 2023, we will be migrating the DC NFT Marketplace to the Candy Digital platform. Here's how it affects you:
Your NFTs, Funds, and Data. All of your funds and data on the DC NFT Marketplace will transition to Candy.com. All NFTs held on your DC NFT account will also be restored to your Candy.com account. You can read more about this process here.
Account Merge. If you have a DC NFT Marketplace and a Candy Digital account, please follow the applicable instructions below:
Two Different Email Addresses: If you use a different email address for both accounts, please log into your Candy Digital account and update your email address to the same one you use for your DC NFT Marketplace account.
Same Email Address: If you use the same email address for both accounts, no action is needed on your part. They will be merged into one account.
To ensure a smooth NFT and balance transfer, your Candy account will be temporarily locked once the migration begins. If you attempt to sign in during the merge, you’ll receive an error message indicating that your account is temporarily locked.
Important Changes to Note
To provide the best experience to all users, we have planned the following steps in the lead-up to the migration:
Marketplace Freeze: Starting at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET on Friday, Dec 1, 2023, the DC NFT Marketplace will enter a freeze period during which buying and selling NFTs and withdrawing funds will be temporarily disabled.
During the freeze, all other features of your DC NFT Marketplace account will remain accessible. You can still perform these functionalities: Login, View My Collection, View Collection Pages, View Account Details, View History, and Share My Collection. The goal is to complete the migration before Dec 14, 2023.
Password Reset Notification: Upon successfully migrating all DC NFT Marketplace accounts to the Candy platform, you will receive a password reset email.
Relisting: You'll need to relist any active listings you had on the DC NFT Marketplace once the migration is complete.
New Rarity & Fees: The "Common" rarity for DC NFTs will now be known as "Core," and a standardized 5% buying and selling royalty fee will be implemented on secondary marketplace purchases. This will replace the current 10% royalty paid by sellers and is, in addition to the credit card processing fee. Learn more here.
Withdrawals: Any pending withdrawals will be canceled and credited back to your Candy account balance. Once your account is completely migrated over to Candy.com, you’ll have the flexibility to use your credit balance or initiate a new withdrawal request via USDC or ACH (for US bank accounts).
Your Next Steps
While buying and selling is paused, we recommend taking this time to:
Review your account balance and complete any transactions before Dec 1, 2023.
Any pending withdrawals will be canceled and credited back to your Candy account balance. Once your account is completely migrated over to Candy.com, you'll have the flexibility to use your credit balance or initiate a new withdrawal request via USDC or ACH (for US bank accounts).
Check your listed NFTs and make note of them so you can relist them on Candy.com after the migration.

Limited Countries: If your country was previously supported by the DC NFT Marketplace and is no longer fully supported by Candy Digital, your account will have some limitations. Learn more here.
