I’m a bit late on this announcement (winner will still receive a 5% discount), but the winner of the “What would you do with a $25 Candy.com Gift Certificate” contest is Marie Jarriel Byd. Congratulations Marie!

On Facebook, Marie posted, “If I won a $25 Candy.com gift certificate I’d buy a box of Sugar Free Colbalt Gum for my three daughters. They’re always running out of gum. With the remainder I’d buy myself a Box of Salt Water Taffy. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!”

So sweet!

Marie, hope your girls enjoy Wrigley’s 5 gum, you get a big box of salt water taffy, and that your family also has a wonderful holiday season.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this contest and all of your comments. Candy.com fans are pretty amazing, thoughtful people.

Watch for another contest soon!

(Note to impending winner: Stretch your $25 by entering coupon code “golarge5” and get a 5% discount off entire order until midnight Dec. 10.)

Tip: If I were entering this contest (I would if I could), I’d opt for the 3.5 lbs. of Swedish Fish and 340-piece tub of Dubble Bubble … and use the “golarge5″ coupon code.

Then, I’d wrap up both, give them to my kids on Christmas morning, and badger them until they shared with their mother.

Turns out celebrity interior designer Courtney Cachet has a sweet tooth and she’s going to be doing a stress-free holiday decorating segment on NBC’s Open House NYC that includes candy. Love that!

Courtney is also holding a $25 Candy.com giveaway on her Facebook Fan Page today, so tell her why you deserve the Candy.com bucks and you could win!

Speaking of decorating with candy, I spied a $14.95 glass Tilt Bowl and $9.95 glass Lidded Jar from Crate & Barrel (see images below) that would look beautiful filled with Jelly Belly Champagne Bubbles, Fall Kettle Corn Nuggets, Red Jordan Almonds, Christmas Nonpareils, Peppermint Balls, Candy Corn Nougat Fluff, Red Licorice Scotties, or snowy White Gumballs.

So simple, yet contemporary, colorful, consumable, interchangeable … and affordable. Score!

There’s a time and a place for everything. Candy is no exception.

So, I was chatting it up with my neighbors again and we got on the topic of road candy, as in the candy you’d pick if you were going on a lengthy road trip. It’s probably not the same candy you’d pick if weren’t heading out on the highway.

For example, if I were driving from Chicago to Minneapolis, I’d buy the giant box of Milk Duds. If I were milling around waiting to pick up a prescription at Walgreens, I’d probably pick up a bag of Dove Promises. Drilling down further, if it was December 1 and I was killing time at Walgreens, I’d pick up Dove Peppermint Bark Bites.

I’m getting off track. My point is that we associate different candies for different environments. I seem to think Car = Milk Duds. Back in her college days, my neighbor said she downed Red Hots and coffee before exams. For her, Library Cubicle = Red Hots. (My neighbor did well in school, so the fiery combo must have worked.)

This all brings me to my next and last point. Thank g-d, right?

At the movie theater, I typically buy (or smuggle in) Twizzlers. while my daughter always gets a box of Nestle Buncha Crunch. Those aren’t our all-time favorite candies, but they are our all-time favorite theater candies.

If you tell us your favorite theater candy after this post, on Facebook, or Twitter, you’ll be entered to win a $25 Candy.com Gift Certificate.

How to enter on Twitter? It’s simple. Just follow these steps:

1. Follow @CandyDotCom on Twitter

2. Tweet the following: “I just entered the @CandyDotCom Candy Giveaway. My favorite theater candy is ____. http://bit.ly/9nDhIm #CandyDotCom
(fill in your favorite theater candy, of course!)

3. That’s it! You’re done!

On Friday, Oct. 22, I’ll post the $25 Candy.com winner and the top 10 theater candies based on all of your Twitter posts. I wonder if Twizzlers will make it into the top 10?
